Dansetsu Sapporo

We used the hotel as our base for a week of skiing, and it worked out really well. Parking is limited, as advertised, but you can pay to park at the hotel for a very reasonable rate. The room was updated and comfortable, and the staff were friendly and attentive. Having the attached onsen and sauna to unwind in at the end of the day was perfect. We'd definitely come back.

It was very quiet around the hotel, and the beds were comfortable. The staff made us feel welcome and were really friendly. Dansetsu is close to the station and Susukino shops, with Family mart and 7 eleven only about a two-minute walk away. They also offer ramen snacks in the evening and have a public bath.

The late-night ramen at 9pm sounded like a nice perk, but when I accidentally spilled a bowl, I was left disappointed. I was trying hard to wipe up the table and floor with a cloth. I'm pretty sure two staff members walked past and saw us cleaning, but neither helped. I had high expectations after booking through trip.com, and the hotel's service and hospitality really let me down.

This is my second stay, and I'm here for seven nights. I was even planning to come back next February, but today I got really angry with the manager and staff. Heavy snow meant we couldn't go out, so we'd bought frozen rice for my kids and I asked to borrow a plate to heat it up. They wouldn't lend us a plate that could break and gave us a very small paper one instead. I begged, but they still said no. How was that supposed to be enough for two kids? In freezing weather and heavy snowfall, where was I meant to find a plate when a big hotel wouldn't lend one? The manager showed no empathy. I still have a few nights here, but suddenly it feels like the staff have no heart.
