Erimo Apartment

The owner’s friendly, upbeat manner made the place feel relaxed and easygoing. The space is compact, but it never felt cramped. The building itself isn’t new, yet it’s extremely clean and clearly well maintained. One of the nicest places we’ve stayed in a while.

Takashi was kind and understanding when unforeseen circumstances meant I arrived very late. I could also extend my stay at short notice without any trouble. The studio, 207, is small but has the essentials, and I think it would work for two as well as for one. There’s a kitchenette for simple cooking, though I chose to eat out and try the many nice Japanese restaurants nearby. For my first stay in Japan, it was also reassuring to be in a quiet, safe-feeling area close to the station.

Takashi the owner was wonderful, and the room had everything I needed, plus thoughtful extras like an electronics adapter. The toilet was a little narrow. It’s good value in a quiet neighborhood, with a convenient station for central Sapporo nearby. I’d definitely stay again.

The beds aren’t big, which is the one small drawback, but the rest more than makes up for it. The units are typical Japanese living spaces, compact but equipped with EVERYTHING. In all my travels, and I’m 78, I’ve never had a host as helpful, gracious, and generous as Takashi Soda. Getting around is easy: Hiragishi subway and the supermarket next to it are a 6 minute walk away, and 7Eleven is just 3 minutes away. I highly recommend this accommodation. Score 9.9/10.
