I picked a single private room, which cost a little more but gave me more privacy. It was cramped, though, and could be uncomfortable if tight spaces bother you. Showers are shared, but they’re on the same floor. This is a simple, no-frills hostel near the train station and right by a shopping district, with plenty to see, eat, and explore nearby. Check-in is at a small front desk, and the sleeping areas are upstairs. Practical for the location and access, with fairly basic comfort.

As a solo traveller, I found the location really convenient and easy to get around from, and it felt quite safe. They don’t provide a towel or toothbrush for the private bunk bed, though. The room can get warm, but I was there in winter, so it was manageable.

The room was spacious, and the curtains were thick. People made quite a bit of noise, but I’m used to hostels, so it didn’t bother me much. The mixed dorm setup could be an issue if you’re not comfortable with that. There was a man snoring all night on my floor, which wasn’t great for sleeping, though that’s not the hostel’s fault. The location was perfect, right on the famous street. We could step outside to buy souvenirs, and it was easy to find, not far from the main stations. The shower and toilet were pretty clean, though the ventilation could use cleaning. They don’t give out towels, toothbrushes, or other supplies for free as far as I could tell. You have to pay to rent them. I’ve stayed in a lot of hostels, including in Japan, where those things were free, but it was okay.

The rooms are small, so if you’re staying more than three days, bringing big luggage, or hoping for more comfort, you might want another place. I stayed five days and found it a fair experience. The staff were great and always helped with what we needed. It would be less hassle if management left towels and hygiene items daily instead of making guests request them now and then. The location is handy for everyday needs, with stores, restaurants, pharmacies, and other basics nearby.

The lobby was a nice spot to wait while doing laundry, and there are plenty of shops for everyday needs close by. Our room was really clean, the facilities were well maintained, and the staff were friendly and helpful. Easy to find, convenient, and budget-friendly for a Sapporo visit.
