The room was a bunk bed, with one mattress literally on the floor. The bed wasn’t made when we arrived, which really annoyed me and made it feel like the staff had put in no effort. We slept badly too. There’s no sound insulation, so even people walking around were noisy and disturbing. I’m used to capsule hotels in Japan, but this was worse. We got there at 8:30 pm, although the email said someone would be at reception until 9. The desk was empty and the door was shut. The code in the booking email didn’t help us open it, but luckily someone inside let us in. There was no guidance about finding our way around, though we eventually found the room. There’s no elevator and not much space, so luggage could be a problem. The “kitchen” was a little room by the counter with a fridge, microwave, and kettle. The glasses were dirty, and I couldn’t find a sink to get water. While we were eating dinner, someone I think was staff arrived. They didn’t greet anyone and were harsh with guests. That was the only time I saw staff during my stay. This was my worst hotel experience in Japan. I’m giving two stars for the price and the place being relatively clean, but I absolutely don’t recommend it. If you can find somewhere else, avoid this hotel.
