Yoshie is what made Oyado feel so welcoming. She went out of her way to help me and another guest with our buses out of Sapporo, and gave me loads of suggestions for places to visit and, especially, places to eat in sapporo. She even taught me some Japanese. The beds were comfy, breakfast was freshly made, and the location was convenient, but the owner’s warmth is the real highlight. She makes a real effort to help guests feel at home. I’d love to come back to Sapporo and stay at Oyado again.

Yoshie was kind and helpful, and gave me really good suggestions for hiking and other things. The little shared room by the entrance can feel cramped if all the guests are in there. It’s a nice, small guesthouse a bit outside the center. The road outside is busy, so it gets noisy at night. The bed was comfortable, though on a really hot day it might be hard to get enough air moving.

A laid-back hostel outside central Sapporo. The owner is a really energetic woman who can help with almost anything. The dining area is kind of small, and the Wi-Fi didn’t reach my bed very well.

Best guesthouse and travel experience I’ve had so far! Yoshie is like an angel, always smiling and ready to help, chat, or share a little biru or sake. She made my time at Oyado in Sapporo such a delight. Ahah 😜🤣 Domo Arigatou, Yoshie, namara kakkoii kata desu. I’ll definitely see you again. Mata ne 🫶🏼🔥🥰🎌❤️

Snow at Oyado Sapporo makes for a gorgeous experience. If it’s snowing, I’d suggest taking a quick taxi from the nearest station to the guesthouse. I loved the friendly, welcoming atmosphere and the proper guesthouse feel. The staff were wonderful, the beer was delicious, and there are lots of good places to eat nearby. It’s also easy to take the train into the main city center.
