We loved having the whole three-bedroom house to ourselves for three nights with our Shiba Inu. The private onsen beside the living room was the highlight. It was so convenient that we used it far more often than we would at a traditional ryokan. We also enjoyed long, quiet walks with our dog without having to keep stopping to give way, as we do back in the city. The food was disappointing at our last meal during the stay. In more than 20 visits to Japan, we've rarely encountered food quality like this from a Japanese hospitality operator. When we opened the food box, there was a large piece of damaged vegetable.

Getting into the room was a hassle because we hadn't realized the office/reception closed at 7pm. It took close to an hour to get in touch with management, so communication was the weak point. The place felt more like a townhouse than a room: three bedrooms, each with two beds, two toilets, one shower, a spacious living room, and a private bath (onsen).

With a puppy, we wanted a cottage or somewhere similar instead of a hotel, and we never expected to find such a good place in Sapporo. We could bathe anytime, 24 hours a day, without worrying about being seen, and the place felt thoughtfully arranged. The stairs were low enough for small children and older people, and it was handy to be able to return to our room when tired. They supplied pet cages, sheets, and cleaning items, so we barely needed the things we'd brought. Check-in didn't require meeting staff, and having meals provided was a big help. We had to heat and grill the food ourselves, but they'd clearly thought about how to make it tasty and enjoyable within those limits, which I appreciated. The retractable trash cans and almost no wiring on the floor also helped keep our pets from getting around and made us feel safe. We'll stay here again. Thank you.

We stayed as a couple and found the place incredibly comfortable. There were plenty of dishes and chopsticks, so you can arrive without bringing anything. The living room was quite spacious, and the bathroom had enough room for four people. The bath was an artificial hot spring, but still very pleasant. I'd definitely like to visit again.

February 2026. We booked a private room because we had small children and didn't want to disturb anyone. Check-in was at the management building. The living room had space for ten adults around a sunken kotatsu table, but with a large group we had to carry our meals to the serving room just inside the entrance on the left. Don't expect meals to be served to you. For smaller groups, they apparently put the food in the fridge ahead of time, and after eating you need to return everything to the serving room. The kitchen has pots, plates, and cups, so cooking is possible, but you have to wash and put everything back when you're done. At checkout, you leave the key in the room, and contactless checkout seems to be the usual way. The house has three large bedrooms and plenty of space. There are two bathrooms, one by the changing room and one at the end of the first-floor hall, plus two toilets, one on each floor. With a big group, there can be plenty of squabbling over facilities, so having both bathrooms and toilets is useful. The main bathroom has room for three adults to stretch out. The water is open 24 hours and very warming, though despite being in Jozankei, it's not Jozankei Onsen water, lol. The shower head is Refa, and the shampoo and conditioner are KOSE. The changing room is small, probably only enough for one person at a time, and there's another shower room elsewhere. I'm allergic to animals, so I picked a room where pets aren't allowed. They also have pet-friendly rooms, which seems handy for families. I recommend it.
