I loved the onsen, with separate sections for women and men. It’s open daily from 2p-2a and closed for cleaning 10a-2p. Onsen users can also get mini fruit popsicles or ice cream. The hotel faces Odori Park across the street, with lots of food and shopping nearby. During the Winter Festival, a park facing room may be noisy from stage performances and safety announcements over megaphones. I was on the 13th floor in a Single Rm, a good fit for one traveller but not two. It was very quiet at the end of the hallway, though my window faced another building wall, so there was no view. The bed and PJ set were comfortable. There’s no daily housekeeping, but in the morning they hang a bag with towels, a new PJ set, and other things on your door. Early check-in costs 1000¥ per hour until the official 3pm time. I left my bags in storage, and after checking in around 4:30p, found them already in my room. Staff were generally professional and polite. I took the airport bus. When I arrived, the bus companies weren’t dropping passengers in front of the hotel because of a severe snowstorm two days earlier. They also weren’t picking up there on the weekend and final day of the Sapporo Winter Festival. The nearest bus stops are Odori Park and Grand Sapporo Hotel, each less than a 10 minute walk away. With snow on the ground in winter, the Grand Sapporo Hotel stop is actually the better route. I took the Odori Park route and found it a bit tedious. The hotel pays attention to amenity details: charging cables with different ports, including type-C, Apple, and usb-A, are in the room. Utensils are at each floor’s elevator lobby, while free tea, coffee, and extra toiletries are in the lobby. The coin laundry is cash only, 300¥ per wash with detergent added automatically, and 100¥ for 30mins of drying. You can get change at the Check-in desk. There’s no mini-fridge or microwave in the room. The breakfast buffet costs 2300¥/pax, or 2000¥ for hotel Member. Most dishes are cold, and there are only a handful of hot choices, which I wish were more plentiful. They do serve red and white wine, though. Will stay again.

Being able to reach Odori station through the underground passage was especially useful in winter, when the pavements were slippery and blizzards were blowing. There are plenty of good restaurants down there too. From the hotel, many sights and shops are an easy walk, including Sapporo TV tower, Sapporo clock tower, Hokkaido old government building and Tanukikoji. The public hot pool was lovely in the cold weather, and the staff were friendly and helpful. They even made a reservation for Snow Milk heritage museum. The airport bus stops right outside, which made leaving with heavy luggage easy. When you arrive, forward your bags ahead so you don't have to carry them from Sapporo station, which is quite a walk. I also loved having a park view in winter. Watching all the lights from a warm room while it was blizzarding outside was so nice. Just be aware that, as part of the hotel's environmental initiative, room cleaning is only every 4days.

The airport limousine bus stop is right outside the main entrance, and it's easy to get to the subway and major sights. Odori park is directly across from the hotel. The staff were helpful and friendly, and there’s a hot pool upstairs as well as free use of the washing machines. It's a bit of a distance from sapporo stations, though. Still, a superb place and location.

We chose a park-view room and had a spacious, comfortable bed. The room itself was compact but perfectly adequate for a short stay, and it stayed blissfully quiet despite all the action nearby. The staff were helpful and spoke English. I did find the shower setup less suitable for me because of my health issues, and would have preferred a standing shower instead of one in the bath. Most people probably wouldn't mind. The location is a big part of the appeal: right by Odori Park and close to public transport, with the airport bus literally at the hotel entrance. Tanukigoji Street and the TV tower are about a five-minute walk away, with plenty of shopping, food and drinks in Susokino. I also loved the pyjamas and wish they sold them as souvenirs.

The room is extremely cramped. I could barely get my suitcases open. The location is a real plus, though, right next to the tube station and airport shuttle stop. They say they're “eco-friendly” because they won't clean the room until the fourth night. But they also said they'd clean it for ¥1500 per night, and that money isn't donated to an environmental charity or organisation. To me, calling this an environmental effort feels misleading when it seems like a cost-cutting measure.
