JR Inn Sapporo

The price is reasonable, and with two convenience stores nearby, plus Daimaru and the station just two crossings away, I couldn't ask for more. The staff were polite and helpful, even by Japanese standards. I was there from 12 to 17 Jan 2026 and will certainly stay again when I visit Sapporo. My seventh-floor single was small but had everything I needed: a nice bathroom, good hangers, and a table for writing my travel log. The bed was roomy enough for one dude to sleep starfish-style with both arms still on the mattress. You can choose optional pillow stuffing and sheets. I've got three houses and still felt like I could live in that room for years. There's a good, simple breakfast too.

The staff were friendly and helpful, and the hotel is in a good spot, about five minutes from Sapporo Railway Station. The bath and shower were quiet and had plenty of shampoo and handwash. The downsides were the internet, which was so poor I couldn't stream or watch the Olympics or other TV, and there was no English TV. Breakfast matched the listing, but was worse than I expected. The coffee, bread, and jellyfied yogurt were dreadful. There was also nowhere to recycle plastic bottles or metal cans.

The location is excellent, and my room was clean and nice, though it had no windows. Check-in starts at 3pm, and they wouldn't let me check in even at 2:55. They also wouldn't keep my luggage overnight and told me to use the train station lockers instead. That felt a bit rigid.

For our first trip to Sapporo, this was a great stay. The staff were super friendly, and the location put everything we needed close by. Thanks JR Inn.
