The hosts made the stay feel personal, from showing me how everything worked at check-in to sharing ideas for things to see nearby. There’s a simple breakfast and free cookies, and everyone staying there was quiet and considerate. My room had a hanger, shelves, and a locker for each bed. The neighborhood is peaceful, with the tram just a five-minute walk away for a quick ride into the centre. There’s also a Luup bike station a block away, handy at night, though it’s best to set up the app first. I’d happily stay again in Sapporo.

I’m definitely coming back. The owners are so lovely and really try to make sure everyone’s having a good stay. They serve nice bakery bread in the morning, and the shower rooms and bathrooms have useful things like hairdryers and makeup pads.

The owners were really friendly and checked in with us, offering suggestions that fit what we needed. There’s a kitchen if you want to make something simple, and both a convenience store and a supermarket are within walking distance. Getting there takes a bit of effort since the bus and tram stops and subway station aren’t very close, which could be tough with heavy luggage. I’d still come back sometime.

During my six weeks in Japan, this was one of the best hostels I stayed in. It was very clean, and breakfast came with fresh bread and eggs. The hosts were lovely and could speak with us in English. They remembered my name and asked about my trip. Since I was cycling, they kindly let me keep my bike somewhere safe overnight. I’d recommend it for a Sapporo visit.
