The staff were great and the location was great too. But we could hear people arriving and talking at 1am, even though our space was completely private, so the rooms need better soundproofing. The blinds were broken and awkward to use, which meant we woke as soon as the early sun came up. Better doors and blinds would make me want to visit again.

Room 205b had decent guests, and the blinds covered the whole bunk, better than at other hostels. The mattress felt too thin on my side. There was just one toilet on level 2 and one shower per gender, but I didn't have to queue. The staff bloke was excellent, and there was good stuff in the bunk.

There are sinks inside the room, which is inconvenient since the WC is outside and there's no way to wash your hands after using it. Even worse, some loud noise from inside the building went on literally all night, like a giant generator. You could hear it on the 5th floor, and sleeping was impossible.

This is one of my favorite hostel chains in Japan. I've stayed here twice, once in a dorm and once in a private room. It's nice and clean, and the lounge view is good when it's snowing outside.
