R&B Hotel Sapporo Kita 3 Nishi 2 - Vacation STAY 39508v

It was very clean and in a great location. The underground route from Sapporo station to sittate, then taking the elevator from there, made it easy to avoid the snow. Cleaning is basically done every day, which is unusual for a business hotel and nice to have. The cleaning staff were loud, like military drills, but I guess it helps them get through the work quickly. I really enjoyed my stay and highly recommend it.

The breakfast was delicious. It’s a simple spread of hard-boiled eggs, soup, and bread, but the bread is freshly baked and there’s a different variety each day. My favorites were the sausage pastry and green tea buns, which had a strong green tea taste. The rooms are very small, but quiet, clean, cleaned daily, and well equipped: good Wi-Fi, hot and cold water, shampoo and soap, a blow dryer, fridge, flat-screen TV, and slippers. The staff were helpful and efficient. The location is superb, within walking distance of Sapporo Station, Tokeidai, the red-brick old government building of Hokkaido, the Botanical Garden, Hokkaido University, and the famous sweet and dessert shop Kitakaro.

The rate was reasonable and the staff were friendly. There is a sewage smell from the drains. Closing the sink and bathtub basins helps, but the smell is still there, just not as strong.

The room was clean and well maintained. It was small, but I expected that and had no complaints about it. Breakfast was very basic, so you might be better off with 7-11 food. It’s a short walk from main sapporo station, and not too far from the clock tower, tanukikoji, and susukino. I walked to those places every day, and the many shops along the way kept it interesting.
