A very poor stay. This is a 12-story hotel with 6 rooms per floor, but there’s just one water dispenser on the first floor and it gives out only a little water at a time. Guests have to buy their own water and carry it back, which is really inconvenient. The vending machines on the second floor were broken.

The room was spacious and easy to use, with all the facilities, and I was satisfied with that. I was on the first floor and there was no strange smell. Still, I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone particular about cleanliness. There was hair from the previous guest in the bath, and the tub walls felt slimy. I first thought it was a hot spring. The tatami didn’t look vacuumed, and something was still there. At bedtime I realized there were no sheets, so I called and asked for some to be brought up. There was no one there, but it seemed someone was nearby.

There’s no permanent staff, so you can’t store luggage. Check-in is done on a tablet, perhaps because they’re cutting labor costs, but my name and reservation number weren’t registered. I couldn’t check in, and my first day’s itinerary was ruined. I managed to call after trying not to roam around, but they refused to help, saying they don’t speak English. Even the Japanese person next to me couldn’t answer. This place has no answers, so please don’t come.

There was dust all over, and brown stains on the sofa made me hesitate to sit down. When I opened the washing machine, I found a brown mark stuck to the lid that looked like feces. I also saw piles of cardboard boxes at the front desk. They made me worry as I checked in, wondering whether this hotel was okay. The hygiene was simply terrible.

The towels in our room hadn’t been changed on the second day. I called to ask about it and was told they’d change them if I brought them when a front desk staff member was there. But when I went at the designated time, nobody was there. After more calls, they finally brought towels to our room. Having to ask about everything, and getting so little hospitality, was appalling. Check-in was another mess. The reception was unmanned, and the tablet at the entrance couldn’t confirm our reservation even after I entered the number. I had to find the phone number on my smartphone and call headquarters. The calls got transferred repeatedly, and my exhausted family waited several tens of minutes because we couldn’t check in smoothly. We were staying under a nationwide travel support program, but nobody checked vaccination certificates or anything like that. People can make reservations by mistake, so letting them stay without checking is absolutely unacceptable. Cutting labor costs may be good, but there are plenty of ways to improve things like check-in and towel changes. I think this hotel group is running its business negligently.
