The subway station is about a ten-minute walk away. Showering was a hassle, especially in the cold, because the water pressure was extremely low.
Hotel Mystays Sapporo is within walking distance of JR Sapporo Station, making it convenient for sightseeing, business, and exploring nearby areas and food. It also gives easy access to Susukino and Odori, right in the heart of the city. The rooms have modern, relaxing interiors and spacious beds. High-speed Wi-Fi makes them suitable for work, and air conditioning plus air purifiers with humidifying functions help keep things comfortable in any season. The staff are friendly, and check-in and checkout are smooth, so it's easy to relax after a long trip. It’s a good fit for both business and sightseeing.
The room was large for the price and well heated, maybe a little too much. You can turn the heater off, though more precise control would help. We stayed in a triple room, and the toilet was so cramped there was barely room to stand after a shower without getting into the tub. If you brush your teeth or wash your face in the shower, that may not bother you, but there’s hardly space to do those things at the sink. The area is quiet and easy to drive around, but it gets quiet early, around 8-10pm. There’s not much nearby, so you may prefer somewhere closer to the city center. The hotel is relatively close to a station. One creepy incident also made us extra careful about locking and latching the door: a strange man stood outside, staring at us through the large first-floor side window as we entered the elevator. Service was good. I’ve heard staff here are less friendly than at other Japanese hotels, and I can see that, but they answered my questions and helped when I asked for amenities. They weren’t rude, so I’d give it a four.
I booked at the last minute through Booking.com after a winter storm cancelled the train to my destination, and the price was reasonable. It’s a business hotel. My standard double room had enough space to open my luggage without feeling cramped. The shower room was tiny but clean, with room for only one person to stand. Google Maps said Nakajima station was a nine-minute walk, but it felt like more than twenty minutes, probably because of the snow on the road.
AVOID! huge flop! This was the worst hotel stay of my life, in room 509. The washroom had a persistent smell, and it was cleaner at Furano JR station. I couldn't sleep until I was extremely tired, around 3 or 4am, because of the heating. The washroom ventilation seemed questionable, and I wasn't sure it was working. There were mysterious substances in the air purifier's humidifier, and its plug was fixed in place so I couldn't clean it. We got back to the hotel quite late; otherwise, I would have asked to change rooms.
