The room is very spacious and could fit four families, and getting to the city center takes about 10 minutes by car. But checkout was at 10:00 AM, and because we left late, the host charged 5,000 yen for each 30-minute period. We hadn't known the amount in advance, and ended up paying 20,000 yen. The check-in instructions said there would be fees but didn't clearly explain how much. It left me thinking that if the host had said 50,000 yen per 30 minutes, I might have had no choice but to accept that too. Ask the host about all the details before booking. Unexpected high charges can spoil an otherwise pleasant trip.
