Toyoko Inn Hokkaido Sapporo Station Kita

My first stay here was four nights, and the room and facilities were very clean. Breakfast was simple but tasty, especially the curry rice, which was my favorite. The restaurant staff were friendly and polite. I'd only suggest adding some music at breakfast to make the atmosphere feel warmer.

The location near JR Sapporo Station is the one positive thing for me. I wasn't satisfied with the service. After four nights, I planned to spend one night in another city and then return to this hotel, but they wouldn't store our luggage overnight and required us to take everything along. They even warned they'd contact the police if any belongings were left after midnight on checkout day. That felt unnecessary and unwelcoming, especially for returning guests. I understand it may be hotel policy, but it seems unreasonable. The only suggestion they gave was to use coin lockers outside. Breakfast was average, with little variety and mostly the same menu each day. Around 10:00 AM checkout, housekeeping used the same elevators as guests, so getting one was crowded and inconvenient.

The buffet breakfast has enough variety that I didn't need to head out hungry into the cold. The downside is how crowded the lobby gets during breakfast hours. From the city center, this Toyoko INN has the best access to New Chitose Airport among the locations. It's also less than a three-minute walk from Sapporo Station.

The room is comfortable and breakfast is always very good, which is why we choose this hotel. But the staff now feel so different from the staff 10 years ago. Our first impression of Toyoko inn was in Okinawa, where your staff were very nice.
