Unwind Hotel & Bar Sapporo

The room breakfast was a big plus, and they have the best bread toaster I’ve ever seen. Staff were friendly and spoke English really well. It’s also a great base for the nearby park and the south side of Sapporo, including Susukino and the clocktower. A very good place to unwind.

After busy, cold days out in Sapporo, my two teenage daughters loved coming back to the quiet, cozy room. The hearty soup breakfast delivered there was a highlight, as were the late night drinks and s’mores at the rooftop bar. The hotel has a calm chalet feel, with shops close enough to walk to, while still feeling like a peaceful break from the bustle of the city centre. We’ll be back.

The rooms, King Theatre and Twin, were clean and stylish, and the breakfast came hot each morning. I slept past delivery time once, but the soup stayed hot in the thermoses, which was a smart touch. I felt right at home, and Nakajima Park is within walking distance. My fiancé and I also went to Bar Ignis every night. Uta and Kara looked after us so well. Guests can have complimentary wine tastings from 5-6:30, and we loved the drinks, especially the passion fizz and Pear seasonal martini, along with the small pizzas. The fries were great too, and don’t skip roasting marshmallows. Some reviews are harsh, but we had a great time and will definitely return.

We felt at home in our cozy, surprisingly spacious room, and the breakfast delivered there was delicious. The staff were friendly and polite throughout. We missed the free wine service, but when they learned we were on our honeymoon, they surprised us with complimentary champagne. The hotel’s warm, rustic, outback western-inspired style makes it stand out from ordinary city hotels. The lighting in our room was a bit too dim for us, and the boiled water had a slight metallic taste. Still, I’d definitely recommend Unwind Hotel to anyone wanting a different kind of stay in Sapporo with welcoming service and a cozy atmosphere.
