The staff made us feel very welcome during our three nights at Weekly Sapporo 2000, which I chose because they allow dogs. It’s still surprisingly hard to find places that accept them. The room was well maintained and had most of what we needed, including things for the dogs. There was a kitchenette, a table, and a desk, though my brother and I couldn’t get the Wi-Fi connected. It didn’t cause us much trouble. The location is in the red light district and felt a little seedy, but I had no problems there. Parking was the main hassle: the hotel either has none or only limited spaces. Fortunately, there’s a self-parking lot right next door, though it cost an extra ¥2000 a day. The staff were professional and very accommodating. I left our bags there before check-in, and they brought them up to the room for us. We were very happy with the stay.

For the money, this hotel is excellent. The room came with the facilities and utensils needed to feel at home, which is exactly what the hotel promises. I was also surprised to see that it has kept records of guest comments and its responses in action from 2007 right up to the present.

Once you find it, the location works well for getting around. Odori Park, Sapporo TV Power, and other Sapporo sights are within walking distance, and the amenities are good. Finding the place for the first time can be difficult, especially without GPS.

The staff are really friendly, and the room was clean and roomy. It’s only a short walk to the subway, though the bed is very hard.
