Cafe & inn That Sounds Good

Getting up to the loft bed was a little adventure, and part of what made the accommodation charming. The rooms are bright, with views through the trees to the lake. We spent a lovely few days here exploring the area, and the owners were wonderful hosts. Dinner one evening and breakfast each morning were delicious. I’d highly recommend it.

During a winter walk around the lake, three friends and I came across this place by chance, with no idea what it was. It was such a beautiful, cosy spot in the bitter cold. The couple who own it were lovely and even gave us coffee though they were closed. I’d absolutely recommend stopping by when it’s open.

We felt right at home here. It’s a special, welcoming place in a lovely quiet spot near lake Tazawa. Jazz was playing, and there were instruments on display. Some of the other guests even played a little bass. The food was delicious and tasted homemade. Thanks, Tatsuya and Yuli, for making us feel so welcome!

The meals were the surprise for me. There’s so much care in the details, and everything is explained helpfully in Japanese as it’s brought out, including where much of it comes from locally. You can tell the food is a labor of love, and it tastes great. I first noticed the name, then the reasonable prices and appealing location. The couple have been running the place for 31 years and seem to have found a rhythm that works. I was sorry to miss a jazz night, but that’s one of plenty of reasons to come back.
