The service was lovely, the rooms were comfortable, and the food was great. I had a very good stay here. It’s also a handy base for Tazawako ski field, Nyuto onsen, or spending time around Tazawako.

The room had a lovely view of the autumn leaves, and an early morning walk was relaxing. The place itself is simple and peaceful, but you need a car to get there. The onsen has two small pools, one inside and one outside, plus a cold pool outdoors. The sauna was out of service; I think it was meant to open soon for the winter season. There’s also a small outdoor smoking area with two stools. Cheers.

The hotel is a long way from the lake and railway station, but booking here turned out to be my best choice. There are spacious rooms with comfortable beds, free WiFi and toiletries, and the staff are accommodating and fairly bilingual in English and Japanese. The open-air hot spring is nice, and they offer pickup and drop-off at Tazawa ski resort. The nearby dense forest makes for great views. Book a stay and relax.

You’ll need to drive here. Since the renovations, the room is very comfortable.
