Pension Kuroshiomaru

The owner's wife was so thoughtful. Since dinner wasn't included, she took us to a restaurant she knew was good and drove us around to see some sights near the guesthouse. That was a lovely gesture. I would definitely recommend staying here. It's surrounded by greenery, about a 20-minute drive from the nearest JR station, with the blue ocean right in front. We only had breakfast, and the fresh bread was delicious. The homemade honey especially impressed me. Our room was clean and had everything we needed.

The couple running Kuroshio Maru welcomed us with such warm smiles. We were three older friends on a chilly oyster trip in January, part of our usual routine of traveling in Japan and abroad about every four months. We brought oysters, meat, and sweet Ushimado cabbage from the seaside station, and everything was delicious. They even set up a barbecue for us. The warm blankets and lap blankets on the benches were thoughtful touches, and we were touched by their kindness. The bath was bigger than we expected, and the three of us had such a fun time bathing together. The morning was bright and sunny, and we enjoyed the heartfelt breakfast set, sweet honey, and all the coffee refills we wanted. They also told us about a nearby farm, where we got to feed carrots to the horses. We'll definitely stay again.

It's a budget pension, so there aren't special services, but you can bring your own food and use the dining room and microwave. The owner's wife is kind and pleasant, and the homemade honey at breakfast was delicious. There's a barbecue, too, which makes it a good place for sea lovers in summer. Be sure to stop at the nearby thoroughbred ranch. There's a moving story there.

We spent a night here with breakfast during the children's summer vacation so we could visit Ushimado Beach. The breakfast was tasty, and the kids were all smiles. We liked the homemade honey so much, with its mild, delicious flavor, that we bought some to take home. It was our first time in Ushimado, and the owners' smiles, conversation, and the warm, homey atmosphere became special memories for our family. We're grateful to them.
