Post Hotel

It's okay, an old hotel, but fine if all you need is a cheap place to sleep. The breakfast was awful, so you'd be better off getting something at a convenience store.

A cozy, pleasant place, and handy for getting to Shinjo st.

I was traveling alone and stayed here in January 2026. It's about a five-minute walk from Shinjo Station, but in heavy snow the sidewalks can't be used, so take care getting there. The front desk staff weren't unpleasant, though they avoided eye contact the whole time and spoke in a somewhat unusual way. I think they gave the standard explanation. The room was a typical business hotel size. It showed its age, but was decent overall. Breakfast had one plate each of fried and boiled eggs, plus a small buffet with a few sides such as meatballs. I would've liked more choices. Shinjo city doesn't seem to have many hotels, and because it gets heavy snow, prices are generally high and places seem to fill up even on weekdays. In that setting, this felt like a standard business hotel for the area, and the price was reassuring. If the nearby Hotel Route Inn seems too expensive, this would definitely be one of my first options.

Breakfast filled me up without being too greasy, and it was more than a light meal. The dining room was small, but people moved through quickly. I took my time going into the units.
