We booked two nights in a room with a private onsen and chose the grilled kaiseki package. The meal was good, and I have no regrets. The exterior looks a little run down, but the inside of the hotel and the rooms were clean and very well maintained. Service was great too. The senior lady who made and served dinner was excellent, and did her best to speak with us in English.

The hotel has three buildings joined by sheltered corridors. Guest rooms are in two of them, while reception and the hot springs are in the middle building. There's a small souvenir shop across from reception, and a little performance takes place at night. The renovation feels a bit old, but the room itself is very large.

The dining hall is splendid, with the feel of an ancient Japanese palace.

We loved having both a Western-style and a Japanese-style room, plus a private onsen. We'll visit again ❤️

The Wi-Fi is slow, and its signal keeps cutting out.
