Izumigaya Craft Inn WARAKU

The stay started warmly, with a cozy atmosphere, a lovely welcome, and excellent meals at Wakasho Wakamatsu for breakfast and Simples for dinner. We also enjoyed the nearby open-air onsen, with the caddy service making access easy, and the handicraft session felt like a personal touch. Leaving was a letdown. While I went to get the car, the reception staff stayed seated and watched my wife struggle with three pieces of luggage at the front door without offering help. It was a disheartening end to an otherwise wonderful visit.

The in-room sauna let me unwind both physically and mentally. I also felt comfortable thanks to the floor heating, and the old Japanese-house atmosphere was really relaxing. Thank you very much 😊

The quiet at night was striking, with no traffic noise, while during the day I could relax to birdsong and cuckoos. It seems like a good place to get away from work or city life. I came to the Doma room for the sauna, and ended up extending my stay by two hours because it was so comfortable. The room was stylish and spacious, and the care put into everything, from the tableware to the amenities, really showed. I walked a short distance to the annex for breakfast and dinner, and both were delicious. Breakfast at Wakamatsu was especially thoughtfully prepared, and I could feel the care in the food. I’d definitely stay again.

We made tea bowls during the pottery experience next door, and I’d been looking forward to arriving. There’s also a cafe and a dog run on site, and some facilities allow dogs, so it could suit people traveling with pets. The atmosphere in the renovated old Japanese house was lovely for our wedding anniversary, and this was the most satisfying place I’ve stayed so far. The room’s sauna setup was amazing: a cypress bath, a cold bath, a sauna, and a separate relaxation space. Breakfast was delicious too. The quality went well beyond what I expected, and I’d like to come back someday.
