Nakajimaya Grand Hotel

The room was clean and a good size, and the staff were great. The price seemed right for this quality of hotel, not a bargain, but not expensive either. Getting here from the station was easy, especially in bad weather, since an underground route runs almost all the way. Shops and restaurants are nearby, and there are restaurants in the hotel too. It has the facilities you'd expect from a hotel in Japan, apart from a hot spring. I'd consider staying here again on another trip to Shizuoka.

The twin room had plenty of space, and the hotel is in a really convenient location. The reception staff were friendly and caring, and everyone was super helpful. There is connected parking right beside the hotel for 500 yen per night. I needed my car at 7:15am, even though they normally open at 7:30, and the staff had it ready for me. I'm very grateful, thank you all. I'll definitely stay again if I visit.

Good value for money, but nothing special. The bedrooms were extremely lacklustre and need a serious update. The Wi-Fi kept dropping on the 8th floor, there were no power sockets near my bed, and my window looked out onto a shabby concrete wall.

Breakfast was really good and super cheap, even with cold milk. The hotel was clean and nice, though old, with a low ceiling. Wi-Fi only worked on the room floor, one of three different floors, I think. My window looked straight at another building, so there was no real view, but the price was very cheap.
