I was there for a ski volunteer program and, even though I caused some trouble, the staff were unbelievably kind and helpful. The food was delicious, and I slept comfortably in the beds. It made for a really pleasant stay, and I’d definitely come back.

We came snowboarding with my husband’s friends and their families. The owner was socializing and having drinks with other guests at the hotel, while our kids were making noise. Nobody scolded them. I’m sure we were a nuisance to the other guests, but everyone was understanding, which we really appreciated.

After climbing Mt. Azumaya and Mt. Nekodake, I stayed at this homey pension. The owner and his wife are kind, and their home-cooked food is delicious. It isn’t a hot spring, but the large bath is always available, along with two smaller baths. Staying here after exploring Ueda City or Suzaka City would be a good option too.

I took my three children, and the attentive service made the trip especially nice. The food and service were excellent, and the kids had a very happy ski trip. We felt wonderfully looked after.
