We barely speak Japanese and had booked the wrong date, but the staff were so welcoming and still accommodated us. Our traditional room was huge, with a sitting area and a lovely tea setup, including handmade cups and a teapot. The room was spotless, and we noticed little details in everything, from the clothes to the food. The elderly staff clearly take real pride in their work. Dinner and breakfast were the biggest meals we had on the trip, carefully presented with thoughtful touches, and cost under $10 per person. The included onsen was genuinely public, full of local older women, which was exactly the authentic experience I wanted. I covered my tattoo with a sticker I’d brought and was able to use it. We only stayed one night on our way west, but left rested, relaxed, and well fed. If you’re after authenticity over luxury, I’d absolutely recommend it.

For under $100, having dinner, breakfast, an onsen, and a room was an amazing deal. The facilities are quite old, even though they’re well maintained, but the staff are incredibly kind. The location is convenient too, right by the end of the Arcade and Kotoden station. There’s a mart across the road with great closing sales from 9-10 PM.

The location is great, right by the shopping arcades, which is handy in sun or rain. The rooms are spacious and pleasant, and the onsen was cleaner than at other hotels I’ve used. It even has a small sauna. But the place is shabby, like it hasn’t changed since the 70s. Thick, dirty carpets stink everywhere, so you have to rush from the elevator to your room without breathing.

I was traveling alone and stayed one night without meals. They kindly kept my suitcase on arrival, and I was surprised by how spacious the room was after checking in. It was fun to watch local TV programs, and the hot spring was quite hot and relaxing. There’s a supermarket nearby for picking up a few things. I didn’t run into any inconveniences, and the price felt reasonable for central Kagawa. A lovely, charming inn. ☺️

This is a very affordable place within walking distance of Takamatsu Station, with 24-hour access and a supermarket just across the street. The rooms are spacious and have large refrigerators. The food is tasty, and the hot spring water in the public bath has a comfortable temperature and feels good. The style is a little dated, but if you don’t mind that, it’s probably the best value around the station.
