We only booked one night, and as soon as we arrived, we wished we'd stayed longer. The host is so kind, and the house feels warm, traditional, and modern all at once. Our room was lovely and clean, the toilet and bathrooms were modern, and I really liked the shared living room. They'd provided everything we needed, from tea to towels. It's a lovely base for exploring the less touristy lower parts of Nara. I hope we get to stay here again on another trip to Japan.

The facility is clean and pleasant, and each guest gets two towels. The female owner was friendly but strict, and somehow kind at the same time. A few things stood out to me. There is just one parking space, so check or reserve ahead. If you arrive too late to use it, they direct you to a lot about a five-minute walk away. You also have to put all the sheets, pillowcases, and comforters on yourself. The dormitory is mixed gender. There are endless options, so assume the room will be exactly as pictured. I don't think it would be an issue if a family rented the place exclusively, but I was most concerned that men and women who had only just met had to share the room without any divider. There were photos, but I carelessly assumed there'd actually be some separation. The road around the house is very narrow and hard to drive through. I'm not complaining, just sharing this based on my own standards. I travel by car and stay at guesthouses and budget hotels all over the country. Thank you!
