The Matsukawa beef and oyster kaiseki was outstanding, with quality and flavor that really stood out. A hidden gem of an oyster bar ryokan under the bridge.

Really good!

The lobster was sweet and delicious even simply grilled with salt, and the oysters were in season. I came for teppanyaki and chose the oyster and meat course, adding lobster a la carte. Since I usually have meat as the focus when I eat teppanyaki, this oyster-centered meal suited me perfectly. For an inn where you can enjoy teppanyaki in a room with an open-air bath, I thought it was very reasonable. The road gets a little narrow in places, but

It’s a very quiet, relaxing inn, with generally polite service and a particularly warm welcome from the host. I’d give it four stars overall. It only accepts guests from junior high school age and up, and seems to be a small lodging that also runs an oyster restaurant for lunch. Dinner was a three-course meal built around lobster, oysters, and Matsusaka beef. Seafood, especially oysters, was the focus, so it felt more like an oyster course with lobster and Matsusaka beef alongside. Oyster lovers should give it a try. Breakfast was tasty and nicely balanced, like a typical inn breakfast. Ise lobster miso soup is common at higher-grade lodgings in Mie, or at least that’s how it seems to me. I did wonder why the water in the in-room bath felt less viscous than the water in the private baths. I thought they used the same hot spring water, but maybe it’s handled differently. If the in-room bath water were as good as the private baths, the inn would be even better.

There aren’t any convenience stores within walking distance. The inn itself has a lively feel, a nice bath, and teppanyaki with excellent flavor and doneness.
