We brought our dog, and there’s a private dog run, though it isn’t very large. The cage provided for one dog could be cramped for a medium-sized dog or bigger, so I tied ours near the entrance instead. There are three bedrooms, enough room for a big family or group of friends, and cooking tools and dishes are supplied. We paid 4,500 yen for the outdoor barbecue and used it. The fridge is large, and a supermarket and conveyor belt sushi place are a short drive away, handy if you want to bring food back. Being a private place made it easy to relax.

There are nine beds and lots of space, and bringing a dog is welcome. The hillside gives you a great view, though it makes getting around inconvenient. Parking is tight and seems to fit only a small 5-number plate car. Wider vehicles would be better off at the annex building.

We first stayed here with my wife and dog in 2019, and came back for a second visit with five of us, my family of four and my son's girlfriend. The place is wonderfully spacious, with nine beds and three bathrooms, including separate men's and women's facilities. The TV was bigger this time, too. You can barbecue on the balcony, so bring your own food. The tongs provided weren’t great, and we ended up arguing over them, so bring your own if you care about that. There’s a dog run nearby where you can leave the dog while you relax, but there are lots of insects, so bring repellent. A vending machine is outside, though it doesn’t have alcohol, so you’ll probably need the car to get groceries.

For a pet-friendly stay, this is a good option, even though the floors can get a little dirty with pets allowed in the living room. It may not suit someone very particular about cleanliness. The rental log cabin is on a hill about a five-minute drive from Toba Station. It has three bedrooms, numbered 4th, 3rd, and 2nd, with beds for up to nine people. Kitchen equipment is nearly complete, though there aren’t wine glasses. Pet cages are provided, but bring your own litter box. The dog run is small but around 20 meters long, and my dog enjoyed it. The toilets are separated by gender, and the bathroom is small. A one-minute walk away, Toba View Hotel offers open-air and large public baths with a discounted admission of ¥1,000 instead of ¥1,200. Pets are allowed, including in the living room.
