Family Lodge Hatagoya Toki

This is a comfortable place with just the basic services, probably best suited to seasoned travelers. I didn't run into any particular problems, and I think any of these inns would be a safe choice.

I've stayed at more than 10 inns and never had a problem here. The couple were friendly and perfectly normal, and bringing my dog wasn't an issue. The building goes back quite a way, but it was kept clean and in good shape. It's near the highway, with a convenience store close by. Lamu, the West Japan supermarket nearby, has great bargains, which was fun. I'd stay again, even though I'd seen negative reviews from the past. I had no trouble at all.

I'm a repeat guest at Hatagoya, and I'm grateful they give people a place where we can stay together. I've read all sorts of comments, but I think it's a great place. The service may depend on the staff, and perhaps the location too, though some staff are kind and polite. The guide says pets aren't allowed in the lobby. What if someone there has allergies? And, as an extreme comparison, would it be okay for smokers to use the lobby if they were considerate? I think only the smoking rooms allowed pets, but it feels like a hotel trying to welcome all kinds of people, lol. I recommend the Sagae branch.

The facilities were perfectly fine, which makes the front desk experience a shame. The man there was so condescending and had no manners. He didn't treat me like a customer at all. He needs training. 😢
