Agnes Hotel Plus

The room was clean and the hotel was otherwise alright, and the breakfast at another hotel was amazing. Check-in, though, was awful. I asked whether the receptionist spoke English and she ignored me. Then several people were called over, and they brushed off the idea that I might know enough Japanese to check in and didn't believe I could be a Japanese resident. Thanks to Kevin, who works at a different hotel, I was able to get checked in.

The location is fantastic!

The large public bath was a definite plus, and the apartment looked clean, probably thanks to renovations. But the building's original design is old and the soundproofing is poor, so I wouldn't recommend it if a quiet night's sleep matters. We were two people in a double room on the fifth floor. I could hear a young group next door talking until midnight. They weren't especially loud, but their laughter made it clear there were at least three of them. Doors slammed loudly across the floor, not only in the rooms beside us. Maybe because breakfast is offered, there was banging from all over starting around 6 AM. There was no closet, just a wall hanger, and it wasn't enough for two people's clothes and luggage. The step into the indoor bathroom was also too high. Parking nearby at Grand Parking is free, but the No. 1 mechanical tower has time limits for leaving. No. 2 is a two-story lot where you drive yourself, but the spaces are so narrow that parking is difficult.
