Akabaneholic Hotel

The room was so dim that even with all the lights on, it still felt dark. We paid extra for a Premium Twin, though, and it was much more spacious than a typical Japanese hotel room. The bath was clean and nice, and the location was great, just a minute from Akabane Station with convenience stores and all sorts of restaurants close by. I loved the free afternoon drinks and the weeknight all-you-can-eat Chazuke. I’ll definitely come back.

The modern room was quite dark even with every light on, but it was very quiet and I didn’t hear anything from the corridor. Finding the hotel and using self check-in were both easy. There are lots of places to eat outside, and I’d recommend staying here.

The staff we spoke with were all helpful and spoke great English, and there’s a great onsen in the basement. The room was clean, the bed comfortable, and the AC worked well. It had enough space beside the bed for our luggage while still letting us walk around. Booking had described the bathroom as attached, but it was actually private. We also loved the local food and drink spots nearby. The short walk to akabane station made it easy to get around Tokyo, and we ended up loving the location. For what we paid, this was the best hotel I’ve stayed in. I can’t recommend it enough and will book again when we return to Tokyo.

The main drawback was how little there is to do nearby. Since Akabane isn’t very central, getting back after midnight could be a problem if you go out in a bigger district like shibusha. We booked here because other places weren’t available, and we were pleasantly surprised. We stayed 9 nights, and the room started to feel small after a while, but the hotel itself was really nice. There’s a shared kitchen, an onsen in the basement, free snacks every afternoon, and plenty of other little extras.
