APA Hotel Yamanote Otsuka Ekimae Tower

The neighborhood is quiet and relaxed, even though Otsuka Station on the Yamanote Line is close by. The room was clean and had the things I needed, including hot and cold shower water, toiletries, a shaver, and cotton buds. Staff were accommodating, and both check-in and check-out were very smooth. If you have no extra charges, you can just drop the keycards into the machine when leaving. I’d stay again.

Getting to the station is easy on the way back since the road down from the hotel is downhill. Coming from the south exit of Ōtsuka Eki, though, you’ll be walking uphill. It’s very close to the Yamanote Line, which makes getting around Tokyo Metro easy. My single room had a twin-sized bed, and I booked breakfast at Cafe Tora on 2F. The usual APA amenities were there, plus a grand spa on the top floor. It was so clean and comfortable that I didn’t use the bathroom attached to my room, I used the onsen instead. I was traveling solo. Recommended for solo and business travelers.

It’s quiet around the hotel, but the station area nearby has plenty of shops and supermarkets. A convenience store is about a minute away, and the JR station is a short 200-300 meter walk down a slope. Guests can park on site for ¥2,500 a day. The room is compact but clean and practical, with hooks and luggage storage under the bed that make good use of the space. Good value for money.
