6/10

The location made sightseeing and shopping easy, and the service was a real strong point. I checked in around 6 PM, and the front desk staff were extremely polite. They handled check-in smoothly and gave me directions nearby. The rooms were remarkably clean, even though the building and facilities have an older, retro feel. Some things, like where the outlets are placed, seem dated, but it was perfectly comfortable if you just need somewhere to sleep between sightseeing. There’s a restaurant downstairs with a red lantern that seems to open in the evenings. I had plans to eat out, so I didn’t try it, but it could be handy if you’d rather not go elsewhere. This isn’t the place for the latest amenities, but I found it reliable, with well-kept facilities.

The rooms were comfortable and clean, even though the building itself is old. The elevators and doors use card keys, and the front desk staff were very pleasant and polite. I arrived late, but after all those scorching hot days, it was a relief that they’d already turned on the room’s air conditioning. There was no cigarette smell in my room, despite smoking being allowed, because the air purifier was always running. I also appreciated the disposable slippers and chilled mineral water in the fridge. The location is very convenient, just over the overpass after leaving the Hibiya Line. There’s an izakaya on the first floor open from lunchtime, which is handy for a meal. I was very satisfied with the stay, and the price was reasonable. I’d use it again.

I stayed from October 30th to November 3rd, and felt safe and comfortable throughout. I’m especially grateful to the bespectacled woman at the front desk. She gave me the most attentive service I’ve ever experienced, spoke fluent English, and greeted me by name with a smile whenever I came back. That warm, thoughtful hospitality felt uniquely Japanese. My business trip dates changed in September, so I contacted the hotel directly. She carefully checked everything, refunded the dates I’d booked by mistake, and issued a new reservation voucher. She was extremely polite, and I really appreciated her help. I’d gladly recommend the service to my friends in Taiwan and would definitely return. The Hibiya Line station is about a two-minute walk away, with an izakaya downstairs and plenty of supermarkets and convenience stores nearby. It’s quiet at night. Even with the train and station close by, I hardly noticed the noise with the windows shut. Being able to adjust the heating and cooling myself was convenient, and the room had a useful entrance area. It was clean and comfortable, with lots of TV channels. This is the hotel I’d most recommend among the ones I’ve stayed in during 2025. Come see for yourself!

The uncomfortable chairs were the one thing that really bothered me. Eating in the room put a lot of strain on my hips and back. Otherwise, the price felt well worth it, and with supermarkets, convenience stores, and restaurants nearby, I wasn’t inconvenienced. I especially liked the Japanese confectionery shop near the station. I was in town for a tournament and picked this place because it’s near Bach Cafe, one of Tokyo’s top three coffee shops. On the map it looks like it’s right in front of Minamisenju Station, but the winding roads mean quite a bit of walking up and down hills. That’s a burden if you’ve got a lot of luggage. I’d read reviews mentioning train noise and rude front desk staff, but neither was a problem for me. I didn’t notice the trains, and when I checked in at 4 p.m., I had such a good conversation with the receptionist that the elevator nearly went down and then left again. I wasn’t expecting much of the room, but it seemed renovated and was very clean and tidy. It was small, though the clever layout left enough room for some simple stretching. The standard three-piece bathroom and toilet setup was fine for me since I’m used to it. I don’t expect to be in Minamisenju again soon, but if I need a place there, I’d choose this hotel again. Thanks for having me.
