Cypress Inn Tokyo

The room was tiny, though I expected that, and the pillows didn’t give much neck support. I also found the shower tricky to use because its temperature controls were shared with the sink, and it was hard to get the right temperature for anything. The person who checked us in was very friendly, and I appreciated having someone at the desk at 10 p.m. We didn’t see other staff during our three nights, but didn’t need anything. They gave us fresh towels for each night at the start of our stay. The hotel isn’t very central, though the train station is a short walk away.

The rooms are on the small side, but they have everything you need: a good bed, AC, a dehumidifier, fridge, microwave, private bathroom, and even a single stove and sink if you want to cook. Since most of your time will probably be spent in the city, the room size wasn’t an issue for us. Great value for solo travelers or groups. Staff are very attentive, and there are instructions in English if needed.

It’s quiet and less crowded here, with a local feel despite being close to the train station. Shin Koiwa station is just a few steps away, so the location is excellent. The room is a little small, as is normal in Tokyo, and really just enough for sleeping. If you only need a place to sleep and don’t plan to lounge in the room, it’s a very good option.

There are several convenience stores nearby, plus a pharmacy, and the hotel was really handy for getting around. The station is about a minute’s walk away. Check-in was easy, and the room I got was very clean. The front desk staff were kind and helpful despite the language barrier. They provide lots of amenities, including razors, combs, and body sponges, and give you a calendar showing which days they’ll enter to clean or change towels. I found the bed a bit hard, though my friends liked it. I enjoyed my stay and would recommend it.
