For a budget hostel, the shared space is small but great. I had plenty of room and was comfortable, and everything was very clean. Showers cost 100 yen and laundry is 200 yen. The only downside is being a little farther from the main areas, which can be inconvenient, but the low price and good service made it worth it. Kamakura station is reachable on one train for about 1100 yen one way. Walk a bit to the bridge for a nice view of the city across the water, especially at sunset. The manager and staff were all friendly. He chatted with me, suggested a few cities to explore sometime, and was very accommodating when we weren't sure when a friend would arrive. The location is cute, with a konbini and a little shopping street nearby, plus a park close enough for a walk. One night, my friend and I happened upon a neighborhood performance or mini festival. I had such a great stay that I wish I'd booked here again for my return to Tokyo before my flight. Thanks so much!

Makoto, the manager, is one of the best people I've ever met. It's a wonderful place, close to the station and surrounded by good food, with clean facilities, a comfortable bed, and a great chance to meet people. It may feel too small for some, but I loved it. If you're in Tokyo, I wouldn't recommend anywhere else.

Makoto was the reason this earned five stars from me. He’s incredibly friendly and accommodating, and when I needed a Japanese phone number for a camera repair, he took the call and spoke with the service center for me. The hostel itself is basic, but clean, and the showers are good. 💪🙏

The prices are extremely low, so it might suit someone on a very tight budget, but I wouldn’t recommend it otherwise. During my three weeks backpacking in Japan, this was one of the worst hostels I stayed in. The main issue was cleanliness: the facilities weren’t clean, and the bedsheets looked as though they hadn’t been washed.
