The room was clean, the bed comfortable, the area quiet, and breakfast was good. The staff were friendly and helpful. But the bar hosted a bachelor party on the night I stayed, and the noise and music were a lot. At check-in, the staff could barely hear me. I felt that was disrespectful to guests who had paid to stay there and couldn't really enjoy the bar that night. I'm not sure how often it happens, but I think it's a bad policy.

The art here feels like the heart of what the hotel does, not just a gimmick. While we were there, we got to see new installations being worked on. We stayed in the Sushi Wars room, and they took care to make sure we could learn about that specific room, which made the stay special. The front desk staff were amazing too. They gave us great food tips and helped us find the best route to the airport when we were running late. We'll come back for a longer stay!

We were really impressed by how much thought went into everything, right down to the cups. The urban nest room where my fiance and I stayed was roomy, especially for Tokyo, and the rooms were clean and fun. Thanks especially to the staff, who were so kind at check-in and went out of their way to call Yamato about a luggage mix-up. Breakfast was included with our stay and absolutely delicious. The location is in a business district, which wasn't particularly exciting, but it's convenient to walk to the train or bus for nearby touristy neighborhoods. We'd love to stay here again next time.

Nihombashi was a great area to explore, with lots of food and shopping nearby. We walked about 15 minutes to Takashimaya Department Store and Maruzen Bookstore, and spent most of an afternoon there. Our room was definitely on the large side, in my experience of dozens of Japanese hotels over the decades. People sometimes say the rooms are small or ugly, or that the place is too trendy or pretentious. I think it's simply true to itself as a hotel that loves art and artists. Yes, it tries to be cool, but it still felt fun and welcoming to us. The staff were extremely kind and personable. The room had an excellent bathroom and shower like you'd expect at a 5-star hotel. Breakfast was fresh and high quality, though a little small. There were several drinks to choose from, and I had a very good cappuccino. A tasty start to the day.

Each room has its own identity and sense of wonder, like a box of chocolates where you don't know which one you'll get. I love the art and the support they give artists. Anna is so sweet and accommodating, as is the rest of the staff. Such an incredible experience.
