Hana An Guest House was quiet, clean, comfortable, and great value. It's tucked down a small street that feels more like a village than a city of 30 million people, and Google Maps made it easy to find. There isn't a front desk, but getting into our room and figuring out where everything was went smoothly. The kitchen is functional and has what you need to make a meal, and the shower and toilet were spotless. We loved our stay and highly recommend Hana A Guesthouse.

There are lots of restaurants nearby, and a public bath is just a minute away. The hostel itself is cozy and clean, with good value for visitors. It's a five-minute walk to the train stations and a supermarket.

The room was much too small for my things and suitcase, and it got noisy when the people in the next room were loud. The toilet smelled bad even though it was clean. The toilet, bathroom, and sink are shared. I chose this place because it was very close to my university and my presentation at the University of Tokyo Science conference in Japan. Thank you to Ms Hana for welcoming me during my stay. The location worked really well, with plenty of laundries nearby, just remember to bring coins for washing and drying. 7/11, family mart, and good local restaurants are about a three-minute walk away. There's also a very good coffee shop called Mao, which I posted pictures of below. The public bathhouse is very close, and I liked it a lot. I posted pictures of it too for anyone considering a visit. It's a seven-minute walk to the station for getting around Tokyo. Near the station, there's a very local ramen shop in the department store opposite, and there are also pizza places near the house with pineapple pizza, which I liked a lot. You can use the tunnel to get to the university, buy cosmetics and skincare with a tax refund at the Tod store, and find decent sushi nearby.

Before heading to Asakusa, we had a chance to chat with the owner, who was really friendly, and I even got a picture with her. We had an amazing stay in this cozy, traditional Japanese-style house.

The owner responded quickly while I was still in Canada, but once I was in Japan I couldn't get help during our stay. She missed many of my calls when I needed the exact location confirmed, and Google Maps didn't take us to the right address. The shower rules were strict and odd to me: showers were only allowed in the morning, with a cutoff time.
