For the price, this family-run hostel is good value and not too far from Tokyo's main sights. There's a kitchen, though having only one bathroom can mean a queue sometimes. The husband and wife who own it are very friendly.

The room and bathrooms were relatively clean, though the bathroom had an unpleasant smell. The beds were hard and uncomfortable, but the blankets seemed clean. It was a decent stay in a centrally located hostel, and the most affordable option I found. If it's your cheapest choice, it's not terrible, though I'd check whether you can find something better.
I was uncomfortable the whole time and wish I'd read the other reviews before booking. Everything was dirty and cluttered. The bathroom and toilet were filthy and smelled bad, and my skin got irritated. I saw the worker dust off the sheets and spray them with some kind of chemical instead of washing them after someone left. I also think bugs may have bitten me overnight. The beds were like rock, leaving me sore and with a headache from not sleeping. You have to make your own bed, which was also a first for me. The man sharing my room worked there, and his friend came to stay. They talked late into the night and kept waking me. One night the friend spent hours loudly packing and rustling plastic bags, which was extremely annoying. The worker, who apparently lives in the room with guests, was very loud and ate in his bed, even though guests are told not to eat in bed. He got annoyed with me for taking 10 minutes to get ready for bed. Seriously, don't stay here.
The rooftop was the cleanest spot and might be nice in summer. The owner was nice, but the rest of the place looked old and was dirty. Under the bed was filthy, and the bathroom, kitchen, and equipment were old and dirty too. It didn't feel like a place where you'd want to cook. I think they clean only once a week or maybe once a month. I regret booking this hostel. Maybe I care too much about cleanliness, but even Cambodia was cleaner. I stayed with a friend in December 2024. We'd read reviews and expected a nice place, so arriving was a shock. The beds were less comfortable than a fitness mat. If you're skinny, you may wake with body pain and pain around your hip bones. They also made us pay and then make our own beds. I'd never had to make my bed at a hotel or guesthouse before, and it made me wonder if the owner was waiting for guests to clean the place too. I saw an employee use a roller to pick up hair from a bed sheet and spray it instead of changing it after checkout. That's disgusting and doesn't feel respectful or professional. I had to write about my experience. Don't trust the booking grade; it isn't worth it. You can find a much nicer, cleaner place for the same price or less.
The owners are nice, and the location is convenient, with a great onsen next door and lots of shops and markets around. It's a 15-minute walk to the train or subway. The bed was awful, just a very thin mattress that barely cushioned me. I woke several times the first night aching like I'd been lying on wood. The bathroom was dirty, with toothpaste all over the mirror and a sink that stayed flooded and full of hair. The whole place, including the kitchen, looked worn out. Just before checkout, while I was packing, the owner opened my bunk curtains a little early and made me feel like I was being kicked out. It's cheap, but I'd rather pay more for somewhere clean.
