The neighborhood and the people around it made this a lovely place to stay. You share the hostel with strangers who can turn into friends, and there's a very good coffee shop open Tuesday through Saturday.

Just a block from Ome station, this traditional Japanese place sits right in the middle of the old town. I booked a bed in a shared room, and everything was kept in good shape. The shared washrooms were spotless too. The owner was friendly and ready to help. Guests can use the first-floor restaurant area freely, bring their own food and drinks, or buy something there. I'd recommend staying here without hesitation.

For the price, this is a really nice place for a few nights. It's kept up well and feels homey, and the owner is kind and accommodating.

I slept comfortably in the bunk room. The owner also sleeps in that room, which you don't come across often.

Tasty pasta, and a laid-back place to hang out.
