Hotel Abest Meguro

The mattress and sheets were so comfortable that I slept really well and felt relaxed the next day. The toilet and bath were great too, and free toiletries are on the 3rd floor. Service was excellent and the rooms were clean. The hotel is next to Meguro Station but tucked into a quiet area, good for a restful night. One of my favorite parts was sitting by the window with my partner at night, having a bottle of wine and watching people outside and the city view.

It felt like the most spacious hotel room we'd had in Tokyo, and the rooms were very clean. The staff were incredibly helpful. Reception, the lobby, and dining area are on the 3rd floor, with rooms on the 4th. In the dining area you can use a microwave, and there's free coffee and a free soft drink dispenser, though check the specific hours. Reception also has luggage storage, and there are plenty of Japanese comics in the lobby to read. The hotel is affordable, in a peaceful neighborhood, and just a short walk from Meguro Station. Highly recommended.

The location right by Meguro station is superb, and the service was excellent. Still, I wouldn't stay here again. The room floor felt sticky, there was mould on the bathroom tiles, and the room had a strange smell. The toilet didn't flush properly, and the old fashioned taps made it impossible to get the water to the temperature I wanted. The windows aren't double paned, so road traffic and drunk people laughing and chatting came through. I expected dated rooms, but not this level of uncleanliness. It's not what I expect in Japan, especially Tokyo. A hard pass.

The front desk service was excellent and better than I expected. Everyone was friendly and kind. The night shift young woman went out of her way to help me with baby diapers, and I really appreciated her help, along with the modesty and kindness of all the workers. I wish people in other countries were as kind as people in Japan. Thank you again.
