Hotel Continental

Continental Fuchu has become a family favorite over the years. Whenever we’ve traveled to Japan, we’ve stayed here, and the service and food have been reliably good. It’s near the train station and department stores, but the surrounding area is quieter. Even with staff changes over time, the service quality and efficiency have stayed consistent. The rooms are spacious, clean, and well soundproofed. Although the hotel is right beside the station, closing the windows keeps out noise from the trains and people outside. The breakfast is especially good, with fresh produce from rural Japan. We haven’t found a hotel in any country that beats it so far, and there are both Japanese and Western options. Accessibility is very good overall for a Japanese hotel. Both entrances can be used, though the main one has a small step that’s awkward for wheelchairs. We usually take the other entrance, which has a slope. Inside, the hotel is accessible, and the elevators have enough room and buttons at wheelchair height. For rooms, though, be sure to request one without a step if someone has mobility issues. Almost all the bathrooms have a high step, and only a few rooms don’t. Aside from that, the rooms are very similar in quality. If you want a quiet place to unwind while staying in Tokyo, away from the bustle of the city, I highly recommend the hotel and Fuchu.

Every time I visit Japan, this is my favorite place. I really enjoy the buffet, the food is delicious, and the service is excellent. Sudil Kumar Subedi stands out in particular. He’s friendly and a great cook too.

On Tuesdays and Thursdays, around 13:00 to 15:00, they have fresh pesticide-free vegetables available, not just organic ones. I’ve also had the breakfast made with pesticide-free produce. Sweet and yummy, awesome! Updated on 5/25/2026: I just noticed the half lunch buffet in the photo. It looks like a reasonably priced, good-value menu to me.

A pleasant stay, and I’d recommend this hotel to anyone, especially visitors from abroad. The staff were polite and accommodating, so foreign guests needn’t worry. The buffet was great, with friendly staff, especially the Nepali chef at dinner. Thanks for a great time.
