In Kanda, there’s plenty to do nearby, so I’m rarely in the room for long. It’s become my go-to Tokyo hotel because it’s less than 500m from Kanda JR station or Mitsukoshimae Metro lines, making it easy to get around. The rooms are modern, clean, functional, and small, but perfectly adequate unless you plan to spend the whole trip cooped up there. It’s not a 9hr or Capsule hotel, but large or multiple bags can make the space feel tight. Reception has a washing machine and dryer, along with a vending machine that sells alcohol. There are also three different Konbini within a 200m walk. It’s hard to beat the value and convenient location.

The rooms are clean, the hot water works well, and the water pressure is good. There was quite a lot of dust in the curtains, though. Staff also seemed to have a good attitude. It’s close to Ganda Station, so getting around is convenient, and the price is reasonable if you need to stay near Kanda Station. I was satisfied overall.

I left the towels outside my room to be replaced, but no fresh ones showed up. The pillow was so hard that I couldn’t sleep well. They should also be more flexible about storing guests’ luggage.

There’s a microwave in the room, and it’s fine if all you need is somewhere to sleep. The room is smaller than, say, a single at an APA hotel, and the layout didn’t make much sense. The main drawback is that they can’t hold luggage, though there’s a very handy rental power bank station inside. Late check-out at 12pm costs an extra 1000 yen.

I spent five nights in a family room on the top floor at Livemax Kanda. JR Kanda Station is only a five-minute walk away, and there are useful amenities nearby. There’s a laundry opposite reception. The room was very small, and the hotel has nowhere to keep luggage before check-in or after check-out.
