Hotel MyStays Kameido

Kameido Clock is very close, which made getting around easy. The room was small, as expected for budget lodging, but comfortable and good for the price. It had everything I needed: a mini fridge, microwave, water heater, air purifier, TV, toilet, and bathtub.

We spent nine days at Hotel Mystays Kameido in the Annex and found it comfortable and homey, especially for a longer visit. The neighborhood is quiet, which we appreciated after long days walking around Tokyo, and it’s easy to reach the station, convenience stores, and local restaurants. The Annex room was simple, clean, well maintained, and had the basics we needed. Its cozy feel made it more like a small apartment than a typical hotel room. The bathroom is quite tight, especially the bathtub and shower, so taller or bigger guests may find it hard to move around comfortably. It does have a standard Japanese automatic toilet with bidet functions. Despite the limited bathroom space, we really enjoyed the stay and would consider returning for the affordability, access, and cozy atmosphere.

A nice budget option for one person or a couple, though I wouldn’t choose it for a family or a group of more than two. The room was the smallest I’ve stayed in, even by Japan’s standards, and the bathroom would be a squeeze for anyone over 6ft. Staff were very helpful, and arranging luggage delivery was easy. There’s laundry with both washing and drying machines, and the hotel is close to plenty of restaurants and the main JR station.

The staff were courteous and professional, and patient with my limited Japanese. They worked hard to translate whenever I got stuck, which I appreciated. It’s a good budget hotel, though the showers felt tiny to me as a Westerner and the dryers didn’t work very well. I also had to keep going up and down the stairs to get the vacuum, so it would’ve been easier to have one in the room.
