Hotel Tabiya

A good value for a week-long stay or so. My flight made me late for check-in, but the owner waited for me. I’d also forgotten my key, and a woman helped me get access. Everyone was really nice and friendly.

We were two people in the standard twin room. I took the loft and my friend used the bed below, but the loft wasn’t comfortable for me. Its mattress was very thin and hard, at least by Western standards. The air conditioner was right beside the loft, so I was often too hot while my friend was freezing. The room itself was fine. The neighborhood was okay, though the location felt out of the way and getting to other parts of Tokyo took time. It was an okay place overall.

We had a great two-week stay in this quiet, lovely neighborhood. It was such a relief to get away from the busy center and come back to our peaceful little hotel. The station is five minutes away, then it’s a 10-minute train ride to Ikebukuro, with connections to the rest of Tokyo from there. People complaining about the location clearly didn’t check the map. The room was small, but it had everything we needed and enough space for two people and two big suitcases. The staff were friendly, though we only saw them now and then and didn’t need to ask for help. Clean towels, toilet paper, and bin bags were left downstairs every day for guests to take. The self-service style worked really well for us. We had the best time and will be back ASAP! :)

The room felt modern and cozy, with everything I needed for a comfortable stay. The neighborhood was quiet and pleasant for exploring Tokyo. Check-in and checkout are self-service, so read the instructions closely. When I had questions, messaging the hotel through Booking.com was quick and easy. I'd recommend it! 🤗
