Hotel Villa Fontaine Grand Tokyo-ariake

We’ve stayed here many times, but the standard has gradually gone downhill. The bed is uncomfortable and the pillows aren’t good, so we slept poorly. The air conditioner above the bed blows too strongly, which was so annoying that we had to switch it off. The toilet was dirty. I’m assuming the influx of foreign workers don’t pay the same attention to detail as the Japanese staff do

The machine setup was a mixed bag. Getting a taxi through the kiosk was quick and easy, but checking in by machine wasn’t good. The hotel felt very automated, and the rooms were tiny for the price. The restaurant wasn’t good, and people with tattoos can’t use the sauna. Still, the staff helped me have an amazing experience, which deserves recognition. Apparently that kind of help is standard in Japan, but I was really impressed.

The staff made the stay pleasant, they were friendly, helpful, and professional. Having direct access to a shopping mall was another real plus. The downsides were the limited breakfast choice and the long line to get in. Our room’s layout also felt impractical and poorly designed. It takes about 30 minutes to reach the city center, which can be inconvenient if that’s where you’ll spend most of your time. Decent overall, though a few improvements would make a difference.

Getting into downtown Tokyo takes about 20 minutes, and the hotel is also near Haneda airport. Two train stations are a short walk away, and there’s a decent shopping mall attached. The rooms are lovely and modern, and the service was great. The staff were very helpful. I’d stay here again.
