Hotel Villa Fontaine Tokyo - Kayabacho

The room was incredibly small, and once our luggage was open it was hard to move around. Aside from that, I had a good stay for a few days on holiday in Japan. The staff were really friendly, the rooms clean and well maintained, and the breakfast buffet had plenty of options. The location was handy, especially for Kayabacho station. I also had something delivered to the hotel, and it was ready when I arrived.

We were a family of four and initially booked two twin rooms through Agoda for four nights. After changing our itinerary, we booked the same rooms through Agoda for three more nights. When I made the second reservation, I honestly entered two people instead of four. The receptionist said we had to pay an extra 2,000 yen per person per night for the guest count error. That came to 12,000 yen, around $105 AUD, for the three nights. I understand the guest number should have been correct, and it was my mistake. Still, I was disappointed they wouldn't consider reducing or waiving the fee, given that we'd already stayed there for the first four nights and were continuing our stay. A little understanding for returning guests would have made a big difference.

The hotel was clean and comfortable, and the JR station is just a short walk away, so it was very convenient and good value. I had a great stay, with friendly, helpful staff throughout.

The staff were awesome and the service was great. It's good value, and Tokyo station is reachable in 15 minutes by train using either JR or metro lines. I'd get a room with breakfast to save time each morning.
