Peter'S J.
The room was ridiculously cramped, about 5 feet wide by 10 feet long, with no space for luggage. It was also filthy and smelled strongly of body odor, mold, and sweat. Dust covered the A/C and filter unit, and the air was so dusty and moldy that I coughed throughout my 40-day stay. Staff controlled the A/C settings and shut mine off, leaving the room extremely hot. There was a power outage one day, and the elevator was out for two days, so I had to take the emergency stairs. There weren't enough power outlets or clothing hooks and hangers, and many bathroom sinks stayed out of order the whole time. The shared showers were extremely dirty. Some guests left a mess, so I had to deep-clean the shower before using it every day. At times I saw condoms, soiled underwear, bloodied tampons and pads, and leftover semen stains. The restrooms were filthy and never cleaned, as far as I could tell. Workers only restocked the toilet paper. The kitchen was extremely dirty too, and staff removed all the utensils, which was inconsiderate. Towels cost an arm and a leg if you need fresh ones, and there was no room service or front desk staff. Most guests seemed noisy and badly mannered, and not very decent. The listing name is misleading: this is a hostel, not a hotel, and only a few rooms have the advertised "Skytree View." Don't be fooled, most rooms don't have a view of the Skytree tower. Wi-Fi was the one pro. I didn't enjoy staying here and wouldn't recommend it. There are plenty of better places, and this doesn't meet even the minimum Japanese standard. Rating: 0/5.
