ibis Styles Tokyo Ginza East

The Superior Double Japanese Tatami room was clean, as was the hotel overall. It’s a three-star place, but the cleanliness could easily put it at four stars. Our Silver Accor membership got us a welcome drink, and there’s a members lounge. There’s also an onsen upstairs, with a separate card-access bath for women, plus paid washer and dryer facilities onsite. The blackout curtains were among the best we’ve had in a hotel, making the room pitch black. We appreciated the in-room foot massager after days of walking around Tokyo. The neighborhood in Ginza was quiet, with very little road noise, but still a short walk to three stations. There are some great little restaurants within about seven minutes on foot, and it’s easy to reach other parts of the city by train. A pleasant stay in Tokyo!

The room arrangements and my ALL Platinum benefits were handled with real care and professionalism. Ms. Huang from Taiwan, who was at the front desk, was warm, friendly, and full of energy. I felt genuinely looked after during my stay at ibis Styles Tokyo Ginza East. I’m very grateful for her service.

The lounge works well as a place to get some work done, even though it doesn’t offer many amenities. We skipped the hotel breakfast, so I can’t comment on it. Our premiere twin with tatami was just under 200 sq. ft., which felt like a good use of space in Tokyo. The location is handy, near Hachibori and Kyobashi stations, with food options and a coin laundry nearby. It’s also close to the main Ginza area but tucked away from the bustle. I’d trade some of the room furniture for more luggage space. There’s room to drink coffee on the bed.

On my solo trip, I found plenty of food within a 20-minute walk, around Ginza, Kyobashi, and Tokyo station. There are also three metro lines less than a 10-minute walk away. I booked the Japanese-style room with tatami, which was spacious for one person and could work for two, though two large suitcases might be a squeeze. I came back to Ibis Styles Tokyo Ginza East for my second stay because the price is reasonable and there’s a public bath on the top floor, which is unusual for an affordable Tokyo hotel. From Takaracho station, I took a direct train to Haneda airport in about 45 minutes for around ¥420. There’s lift access at exits A6 and A8. I’d stay at Ibis Styles Tokyo Ginza East again on another Tokyo trip.
