Ichijuku Ryokan Kaminarimon - Vacation STAY 75787v

It was so quiet and peaceful inside the ryokan, even though the area around it is busy. The location is great, right by Senso-ji temple and several major train lines. I could easily reach the station for trips to Nikko or Haneda airport. I stayed for the last two nights of my Tokyo trip and was glad I did. I booked a single room through the website. It and the bathroom were clean and spacious, and the welcome treat was delicious. The owner and staff were friendly and welcoming, and let me bring my luggage a day before check-in. I took off a star because my single traveler room came with only one bottle of water, one towel, and one hand towel. It would've been nice to have another set in case I needed it, but it's not a big deal. I'd definitely come back.

The staff made me feel welcome from the start and were wonderful hosts. Asakusa is a great base for exploring both the neighborhood and the rest of Tokyo. It was a fantastic start to my solo trip in Japan, and I'd definitely return if I get the chance.

Right in the middle of Asakusa, the location was perfect for exploring Senso-Ji and the kaminarimon street area. The soundproofing did a good job keeping outside noise out. The room itself was nice, but I realized traditional rooms aren't for me. I should've known better 😅.

The hotel's location was fantastic, and this was a wonderful finale to our trip in Japan. We stayed four nights in a traditional Japanese-style room with tatami mats and distinctive interiors. The decor was impressively minimalist, everything was very clean, and the hospitality was excellent. Breakfast was carefully prepared and authentically Japanese, with no Western options. It made for a high-quality, authentic stay. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
